Matthew Turner Elementary is being recognized by the business community for outstanding success in raising student academic achievement. After an extensive analysis of student achievement data for every public school in California, Matthew Turner Elementary stood well above the rest in raising students to grade-level proficiency and beyond. It is for that reason that Matthew Turner Elementary has been named a 2013 California Business for Education Excellence Honor Roll School.
There is a lot of change happening in education today. We have begun shifting to our new standards, the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) which have been adopted by 48 states. We also will have a new statewide assessment beginning next year (2014-2015). More than half the states in the nation will be using this assessment system as one measure of student progress. Here is a presentation done for our Turner Parent Night on 11/13/13. Look for more information in the future!
